Mozilla BrowserID: BrowserID is a proposal for a browser-based authentication framework which relies on public-private key tokens in lieu of passwords. These token pairs are automatically brokered amongst a browser, an email provider and a website to confirm a user’s identity which removes the need to manage site-specific passwords.
